Mary Uhl-Bien is the BNSF Railway Endowed Professor of Leadership in the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University (TCU). Her research focuses on complexity leadership, relational leadership, and followership, and has appeared in such journals as Academy of Management JournalJournal of Applied PsychologyJournal of Management, and The Leadership Quarterly. Her papers on complexity leadership theory and followership theory were recognized with Best Paper Awards. Uhl-Bien is a founder of the Network of Leadership Scholars (NLS) in the Academy of Management and is currently serving as division chair for the OB division in the academy.

Ron Piccolo is the Galloway Professor of Management at Central Florida University. From 2009-2016, he served as the Cornell Professor of Management and academic director of the Center for Leadership Development & Executive Education in the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. His research on leadership, motivation, job design, and personality has been published in Forbes magazine and on Monster.com and CIO.com as well as in numerous textbooks and top academic journals. Piccolo is a featured blogger for The CEO Magazine, and several of his research papers have earned recognition, including Editor’s Prize for Best Scholarly Paper.

Dr. John R. Schermerhorn, Jr. is an emeritus professor in the College of Business at Ohio University. He earned a Ph.D. in organizational behavior from Northwestern University, an M.B.A. (with distinction) in management and international business from New York University, and a B.S. in business administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a popular guest speaker at colleges and universities. His latest projects include video-enhanced e-textbook development for active learning classroom environments.
